Announcement: New Co-Director
Stella Nantongo has been appointed as FOTEA’s new Managing Co-Director.
Already a very familiar face, Stella brings considerable hands-on experience and energy as she joins Anna Kućma in shaping the strategic vision and artistic direction of the organisation including our Uganda Press Photo Award competitions, educational programs, exhibitions, and learning and engagement.
Stella is passionate about supporting emerging photographers in Uganda and the broader region to expand their technical skills and broaden their understanding of the medium in order to tell better stories. She believes that continued learning and conversations around visual media and representation is key to giving diverse voices a role in shaping the region’s socio-economic and political discourse. Going forward she intends to focus on visual education, community building and regional networks.
