We will be awarding and showing work by the winners of the 12th edition of the Uganda Press Photo Award, the 6th edition of the East African Photography Award and the 8th edition of the Young Photographer Award. Projects from this year's Emerging Photographer Mentorship Programme, including some of last year's Young Photographer Award winners, will also be on show.

October 21st - “Ku-Nassa: Political Posters in Uganda” Photo Book Presentation
2:30 PM | Makerere Art GalleryProfessor Kristof Titeca (University of Antwerp, Belgium), presents his book on the politicak posters and Nasser Road. The book is a collage of the prints that he collected since he became interested in this peculiar history twenty years ago, about which he has written an extensive analysis. The publication also contains photographs that he and Ugandan photographers Badru Katumba and Zahara Abdul took of this place, and an essay by playwright and essayist Yusuf Serumkuma.
This will be followed by a conversation with contributor and photojournalist Badru Katumba and journalist Agather Atuhaire.

Entrepreneur and business consultant, Abid Were Businge will lead a financial literacy seminar. With many photojournalists in Uganda working as freelancers who don’t collect a regular paycheck, it’s important to have a discussion beyond just making money but also about saving and wealth management. Abid will break down ideas around financial literacy and wealth management to help photographers plan better for their futures.
